Gourmet Restaurant Tucked away in a street not far from the Ancienne Douane, this secret address appeals more to local customers than to lost tourists. In a décor with slight industrial loft accents, the atmosphere is relaxed, but the cuisine remains the heart of the matter. Constant Meyer, who arrived six years ago, became the owner in 2022. This new responsibility has stimulated him, who acquired a solid grounding in the basics of gastronomy from Émile Jung. Sensitive to the product, he prepares, according to the day and the market, a cuisine proposed in surprise menus that do not scare gourmets. The snacked beef heart tomato, garnished with a variety of herbs, seduces with an amusing lovage ice cream. The pollock, roasted with precision, is accompanied by beet petals, smoked paprika guacamole and puffed buckwheat cream. Our favorite dish: the traditional veal chop served pink, incomparably tender! It's served with a slightly light, yet thick jus, and revisited with dried bonito petals. For dessert, the raspberry is served on a Madagascar vanilla Bresse cream, enhanced by French toast ice cream and a raspberry-lavender gel, even if the rye bread croutons seemed a little too hard. The wine list features some good contemporary Alsatian references - Deiss, Loew, Pfister. When it's crowded at weekends, service can be overheated, but we definitely like the punch and youthfulness of this new generation of urban, gourmet bistros.
