Right next to the famous Alsatian museum dedicated to folk art, the Pont Corbeau is a winstub known and recognized by all. Nearly 40 years old, and now Christophe Andt's daughter, Coralie, continues to run this fine establishment with great kindness and savoir-faire. As soon as you enter, you're taken by the warm ambience. The carved wood panels and heavy wooden tables and chairs give you confidence. No tuna tataki or ceviche here. Presskpof à l'ancienne, tarte à l'oignon et lardons paysan, or asparagus d'Alsace, lentil salad to start. Everything is fresh and well served. Homemade grumbeerekiechle with bibeleskas, calf's head with vinaigrette, or Strogonoff-style beef with homemade mashed potatoes. Desserts are just as good: Haut Koenigsbourg with fruits de bois and meringue, crème caramel chantilly or this magnificent, airy Alsatian rhubarb meringue tart. A good Alsatian wine cellar, partly available by the jug, and a good selection of eaux-de-vie.
