Ensemble à Table: Nec plus ultra
Bringing together the best of French tableware expertise. That's the idea behind Ensemble à Table, a website where you can find the finest brands dedicated to the kitchen and the table, and reserve their items with a single click.
French gastronomy is inseparable from the art of serving it. This is also what UNESCO honored in 2010, when it declared the French gastronomic meal to be part of humanity's intangible cultural heritage. In France, the meal is a practice that adds to the pleasure of eating and drinking well the pleasure of cooking with the right tools, and presenting dishes on a properly laid table.
Prepare, present, share. It's around this triptych that the Ensemble à Table website is built. More than just a simple catalog, it allows you to immerse yourself in a heritage forged by centuries of expertise in a variety of fields, from innovative companies that have managed to reconcile tradition and innovation. Ensemble à Table is a cooperative born of the desire of these brands to promote their products. The project was initiated by the Confédération des arts de la table - an association of manufacturers and distributors of tableware, cookware and table linen - and Francéclat, an organization promoting the art of the table.
The project is built around three fundamental pillars: "made in France", of course, since the aim is to promote the authentic, high-quality French art of living. In fact, many manufacturers have been awarded the prestigious EPV (Entreprise du patrimoine vivant) label. Another fundamental point is to guide consumers towards a network of specialized boutiques. For it is there - and only there - that consumers will find the expert advice, human contact and service that distinguish the in-store experience from online purchasing. This is why Ensemble à Table is not just another e-commerce site, but a gateway to local stores that deserve to be supported. Last but not least, the initiative is part of an eco-responsible approach, since in addition to selecting only French products - many of which carry labels that are more restrictive than made in France - the platform promotes a purchasing method that dispenses with delivery. After e-booking, customers are invited to visit their nearest store, or even the manufacturers themselves when they are open to the public. And when this is not possible, they are directed to the brand's e-commerce site.
Ensemble à Table can also be visited just for fun, with a Trends section featuring articles for inspiration, to find out more about the art of the table in France through the ages, the history of Jacquard weaving, or to find advice on the best way to choose cutlery or use jars. You'll be delighted to lose yourself in the discovery of objects that make you dream, others whose existence you'd forgotten - like the butter shell - or those whose existence you didn't even know existed, like this whisky glass with a cooling base... The site is constantly evolving, adding new items, manufacturers and partner boutiques.
