Drouant celebrates the Prix Goncourt with a special menu

Drouant celebrates the Prix Goncourt with a special menu

As it does every autumn, Parisian institution Drouant takes on the Goncourt theme. For this 2025 edition, chef Romain Van Thienen has designed a menu especially for the occasion.

Mathilde Bourge

Every year, at the beginning of November, the Drouant restaurant (1 toque) becomes the scene of a discreet yet solemn ritual: the deliberation of the Prix Goncourt. Behind the windows of the historic salon, the Académie gathers to crown a novel, while the ovens come to life to the rhythm of another art form, that of gastronomy. On this November 4, 2025, the tradition continues, between literary effervescence and gustatory emotions.

A tribute of nuances

Established on Place Gaillon over a century ago, Drouant is not just a restaurant: it's a symbol. It was here, in the hushed intimacy of the Salon Goncourt, that one of the greatest secrets of French literary life was played out. This legendary address perpetuates the rare link between words and food, imagination and flavors. Each service is conceived as a page from a great gastronomic novel.

This year, Drouant pays tribute to a woman of letters who embodies independence, modernity and a free view of her time. Without ever being named, her presence looms large over this 2025 vintage. Chef Romain Van Thienen has drawn on this aura to imagine an exceptional Goncourt menu, kept secret until D-day, in keeping with the immutable ritual of the house. Each dish tells the story of an era, a temperament, a sensibility, like a culinary score inspired by literature.

Drouant invites you to extend the literary celebration beyond the award ceremony. The Goncourt menu will be available by reservation from November 4 to December 15, so that everyone can enjoy this unique encounter between literature and gastronomy. The mystery remains, but the experience promises, as always, to be as inspired as it is unforgettable.
