Initial aromas of Granny Smith apples, aniseed and white flowers may be disconcerting, but chalky, mineral notes, with a hint of iodine, soon emerge. This sensation is echoed on the palate, which is fresh, taut and slightly lemony. Citrus fruits are again present on the finish, still with that chalky, very salivating impression. All that's missing is a platter of oysters to accompany this lovely expression of Chardonnay.
