Gault&Millau's review
Telmont is a family business, still run by the Lhopital family, with some 20 hectares under cultivation in Damery, on the banks of the Marne. Henri, the founder, was one of the first to switch from harvesting to handling. Bertrand Lhopital, the current director of the company, along with his sister Pascale and brother-in-law Philippe Parinet, represent the fourth generation. The estate has undergone a genuine evolution, managing 12 hectares biodynamically. It also offers a heritage range of old vintages: 1969, 1978, 1976, 1985, 1986. Master classes are regularly organized, providing an opportunity for discovery and exchange on themes such as dosage, the organic approach, etc... Since 2021, labels have included the bottle number, dosage, grape varieties, blend, elaboration, cellaring time, bottling and disgorging dates, as well as practical information (serving temperature, pairing, organoleptic description).
