Superb color and very fine bubbles for this 2008, which offers a complex, full-bodied nose. Notes of pear, mirabelle plum and nectarine mingle with pastry, cardamom and roasted coffee. On the palate, the wine is very much in the spirit of the vintage, both powerful and elegant, with that je ne sais quoi of restraint and purity that suggests enormous potential. And what length! To be enjoyed now with noble fish or scallops.
