2013 was a very fine vintage in Champagne, one of those classic late vintages that favored slow ripening of the Chardonnay grapes from which this cuvée is made. The nose opens with classic aromas of fine, elegant white fruit and flowers, followed by more pastry-like notes. On the palate, the wine is fine and well-balanced, with just the right amount of roundness, before extending into a chalky finish. Open at the table with a fine white fish, or cellar for a few years.

Patrick Soutiran

Estelle and Fabrice Soutiran, Patrick’s children, now manage the family estate located in the Grand Cru village of Ambonnay, in the heart of the Montagne de Reims on its southern slope. As independent growers and producers, they cultivate 3.10 hectares of vineyards in the communes of Ambonnay and Trépail, where Pinot Noir is the predominant variety, supplemented by Chardonnay. The estate has been in the process of converting to organic farming since 2024. In addition to a varied range of champagnes—blanc de noirs, blanc de blancs, and vintage champagnes—the estate offers two cuvées of ratafia.
