The company was founded 150 years ago by Marie-Désiré Gratiot, the initiator of a multigenerational family project. Today, Rémy, the fifth generation of the Gratiot family, has taken up the torch to perpetuate this know-how. The 10-hectare vineyard is mainly planted with Pinot Meunier, a robust, expressive variety that reveals the originality of Aisne terroirs. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir account for only 16% of the 43 plots on the estate. Vinification is carried out in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, in enamelled vats for reserve wines, or in barrels. The family is a member of the Association des Ambassadeurs du Terroir du Sud de l'Aisne, which promotes champagnes from this region.
