After a first reduced, toasty, smoky nose, we smell flowers, rose, peony, wisteria, all still planted in a garden. Then come tangy red berries, tangerine and lemon. On the palate, the attack is light, but not without tension. You don't immediately think of a rosé. The body is delicate. Aromatically, the finish remains citrusy.

What was known for some time as Gérard Gratiot Champagne is now called Gratiot & Cie. This name change is thanks to Rémy Gratiot, Gérard’s son, who wanted to pay tribute to all those who came before him and helped establish this estate in the heart of the Aisne department. Together with his wife Amélie, they manage about ten hectares dominated by Meunier (76%), Chardonnay (15%), Pinot Noir (5%), and the very rare Petit Meslier (4%). This blend of grape varieties, dozens of plots on different soil types, and aging in stainless steel tanks and oak barrels allow them to produce a range of champagnes with very distinct styles.
