Founded in 1827 by the Mumm brothers from a wealthy German family, Le Cordon Rouge has been part of the Pernod-Ricard group since 2005. It boasts a fine heritage of 218 ha, mainly spread over eight grands crus, but covering only 25% of its needs. Didier Mariotti, the house's emblematic cellar master, has been replaced by the friendly and ultra-competent Laurent Fresnet. For reasons beyond our control and that of the estate, we were unable to taste the champagnes this year, so we are reproducing last year's notes.
