G.H Mumm
Founded in 1827 by the Mumm brothers from a wealthy German family, the house with the famous red cordon has been part of the Pernod-Ricard group since 2005. It manages a 218-hectare estate, mainly spread over eight grands crus, but covering only 25% of its needs. Didier Mariotti, the house's emblematic cellar master, was replaced in 2020 by the friendly and highly competent Laurent Fresnet. Following the latter's untimely death, Yann Munier will succeed him in 2024. The brand's famous red cordon is now inlaid directly into the bottle, making it one of the most beautiful in Champagne. The range of "RSRV" cuvées is particularly successful, and a visit to the cellars is a must if you're in Reims.
