A lovely nose that combines fresh, juicy white fruit with riper notes of apricot and mirabelle plum. On aeration, freshly ground coffee, milk chocolate and buckwheat honey add an elegant roundness. The ripeness of the vintage is there, with aromas of hazelnut, apricot and dried pineapple. Fine bubbles on the palate. This is a champagne that plays good-naturedly rather than powerfully, with beautiful, energetic bitters. The finish, spiked with black pepper, is pleasant.
