The intense, almost poppy color sets the tone on the nose, where intense aromas of this wild flower are combined with red berries (raspberry, wild strawberry) and blood orange to create a full, comfortable bouquet. The palate is full-bodied and fleshy, with juicy fruit, creamy bubbles and an overall impression of gaiety and liveliness that carries through to the salivating finish, with its pretty little bitters. The whole is a little severe, but remains pleasant and offers a fine character that will stand up to red meat.
