Gourmet Restaurant In the heart of Sophia-Antipolis, this resort named after famous tennis coach Patrick Mouratoglou is home to L'Emblème, with its swimming pool in the shape of a tennis racket, visible from the restaurant's terrace. Efficient bistro cuisine, reasonable prices and on-the-fly service are the ingredients for success. Patrick Mouratoglou has surrounded himself with champions of the kitchen: executive chef Gabriel Degenne and pastry chef Olivier Marro. A classic menu with simple, eloquent titles: artichoke carpaccio with peppers, organic Roquefort les Pins egg with zucchini cream and tuber aestivum, sole meunière, Mediterranean sea bass with lemon confit, fillet of beef cooked in a sauté pan with polenta, veal chop au gratin with thyme flower... a few dishes to share, a Cinco Jotas bellota ham or a kilo of old-fashioned tomatoes and burrata. The desserts are well worth the trip to the carrousel where they are served: floating island with caramel and roasted almonds, lemon meringue pie, strawberry and raspberry tarts, iced nougat, fresh fruit salad, chocolate dome... The three-course lunch menu at €32 is tempting, but the glass of Côtes de Provence wine at €12 is less so. Nevertheless, the cellar is well-balanced to suit all tastes and budgets. Romeo Natale is the restaurant's new head chef.
