Taco Mesa, Beatriz Gonzalez's new taqueria

Taco Mesa, Beatriz Gonzalez's new taqueria

Already at the helm of the Neva restaurant in Paris, the chef inaugurated a second address on November 28, 2023: Taco Mesa. With this new establishment, Beatriz Gonzalez follows in the footsteps of her childhood tastes in Mexico.

A new address saw the light of day on November 28, 2023 in Paris. In the Xᵉ arrondissement of Paris, Beatriz Gonzalez, already chef of the Neva restaurant (2 Gault&Millau toques), has taken up residence and opened her own taquería, Taco Mesa. Here, the Mexican chef pays homage to the authentic tastes of her youth.

Tacos like in Mexico

Beatriz Gonzalez had been dreaming of opening a Mexican restaurant in Paris for some time. In 2021, the health crisis prompted her to take the first step by opening Taco Mesa as a takeaway. Two years later, the project is more than concrete, as the chef's tacos now have their own showcase, at 40 rue du Faubourg Poissonnière in Paris.

Beatriz Gonzalez has returned to her Mexican roots in a handsome, warmly-colored space designed by Studio Uchronia. On the menu: a "real guacamole" with avocado, onions and lime, served with tortilla chips; the unmissable tacos cochonita with pig confit withachiote, black beans with epazote and onion pickles; or the quesadilla gringa al pastor with spit-marinated pig, cow tomme, pineapple, onions and coriander.
Beatriz Gonzalez also offers vegetarian options as well as "especiales", more elaborate recipes served only in the evening. For incomparably fresh tortillas, the chef wanted the corn nixtamalization (an ancestral Mesoamerican corn preparation technique) to be done on site, as in Mexico. As for drinks, Taco Mesa offers a variety of classic cocktails, including the famous margarita, as well as mezcal tequila and draught corona. An ideal menu for a return trip to Mexico without leaving the capital!
