Top 5 hotels with fireplaces

There's nothing more delightful than lazing by the fire! As winter approaches, we've selected five refuges with fireplaces, perfect for warming up after a long walk in town or in the forest...

One is tucked away in the hills of the Lubéron, another a stone's throw from the beaches of Deauville, yet another in the heart of Beaune and its vineyards... The addresses we've listed for you all have the allure of an ideal country house.Everything is designed for comfort and well-being, with a spa, delicious food and, above all, a large fireplace where you can enjoy a drink and read your novel while admiring the crackling flames. A seasonal pleasure not to be missed....

La Bastide de Marie in the Lubéron

In the heart of the Luberon regional nature park, this bastide nestles in an estate of some 23 hectares of vineyards. Restored in the pure Provencal tradition, it now houses 14 spacious rooms and suites, as well as two villas, all decorated with antique furniture sourced from local antique dealers. La Bastide also boasts a superb main dining area housed in a former barn and warmed by a large fireplace, while small lounges and libraries invite guests to read their novel or discover one of the board games available. Guests can also enjoy the pleasures of the Pure Altitude spa and the restaurant, which showcases the produce of Provence. A rare address, owned by the Sibuet family, who are also responsible for the legendary Fermes de Marie in Megève...

L'Auberge de la Roche In the Mercantour Park

Nestled in the village of Valdeblore, this stone building has been brought back to life by the trio Mickaëlle Chabat, Louis-Philippe Riel (former chef at 6 Paul Bert, Paris) and Alexis Bijaoui (Barber, New York). The place now revolves around a large dining room warmed by a huge freestone fireplace, where you can enjoy 100% local cuisine that changes with the seasons, largely based on produce from the permaculture vegetable garden. The 2 bedrooms and 3 suites invite you to extend this delightful stopover, furnished with beautiful antiques (Thonet chairs, etc.) and extended by terraces overlooking the valley. A rustic-chic place that reinvents the charm of guest houses with spirit.

Les Manoirs de Tourgéville between Deauville and Honfleur

Between Deauville and Honfleur, this estate was imagined by Claude Lelouch for a feature film before being transformed into an artists' residence until 2010. Now converted into a hotel, it still infuses the director's world, with a 50-seat cinema where guests can take part in previews or view their favorite film at a private screening. A haven for cinephiles, the site also delights lovers of nature and authenticity, with its 7 hectares of parkland, half-timbered manor house and four cottages scattered around the gardens. Settle into one of the 57 rooms and suites named after famous actors and decorated with Pierre Frey fabrics, before discovering the estate's other treasures. The ultra-cosy Lounge Bar, with its wood panelling and huge fireplace, Le 1899, a gourmet restaurant led by Emmanuel Andrieu, or the sports and well-being areas: indoor pool, spa with Esthederm treatment cabins, tennis court... A member of the Floirat group, a warm and witty place.

Hostellerie Cèdre & Spa in Burgundy

In the heart of Beaune, the place has regained its lustre under the impetus of Lyon entrepreneur Amaury Rostagnat, who fell in love with this former master winemaker's house, which he bought in 2019. It's an enthusiasm shared from the moment you arrive in the delightful shady garden, with its tables arranged around a fountain... Bright and comfortable, the 40 rooms and suites boast thick carpets, contemporary furniture and blue and parma harmonies. The Library lounge bar awaits guests with its large library, fireplace and club armchairs, while the former maison de maître houses the Clos du Cèdre gourmet restaurant, led by chef Jordan Billan. A perfect blend of historic elegance and thoughtful modernity, as evidenced by this latest nugget, a Nuxe spa offering a fitness area, yoga classes and three cabins where the signature treatment, inspired by the potions created in the 17th century at the Apothicairerie de l'Hôtel-Dieu. A perfect address for discovering Beaune and its treasures, including the Hospices and Notre-Dame Basilica.

Hôtel d'Aubusson in Paris

In the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, this address, housed in a 17th-century private mansion, appeals above all for its historic charm - antique parquet flooring, exposed beams, Aubusson tapestry and, above all, a monumental Burgundy stone fireplace in front of which you can settle into deep armchairs. The 50 rooms and suites (some of which are duplexes for families) have been decorated by the Double G agency, which has distilled a few welcome contemporary touches here and there - sober, elegant wallpaper, armchairs and fabrics in fresh tones. Since 2018, the hotel has also boasted one of the finest spas in Paris, with sauna, hammam, fitness area, treatment room and a 20 m swimming pool to delight the most demanding swimmers. Add to this the Café Laurent, which attracts Parisians with its jazz evenings, and you have one of the capital's most desirable venues.

Maison Ceronne in the Perche

At the top of a hill, these two Perche longhouses have been converted into luxurious guesthouses, a haven for loyal guests who swear by the charm of the 12 rooms dressed in waxed concrete and designer furniture. The living room, designed as a greenhouse, houses an impressive fireplace perfect for winter evenings, while the huge bay windows let nature in during the summer. The 2h of the estate include a small wood and a meadow with a heated swimming pool, while another pool welcomes guests to the spa equipped with sauna and hammam. Once you've regenerated, you can head to the restaurant, where the chef concocts a cuisine based largely on local produce. Maison Ceronne now has an annex, La Voisine, with 4 new rooms and suites decorated in the same spirit.
