How long ago it seems since Gérald Prévoteau first ventured into winemaking with 7 ares of vineyards. It was 1970, and the first 700 bottles were produced. In honor of his newborn son, the champagne was named Yannick Prévoteau. Today, the estate has grown considerably, with 9.5 hectares spread across more than 60 parcels (some in the Vitryat region, others in Damery, Pierry, or Aÿ) and 9 different terroirs. From solera-style blends to single-plot cuvées, “insider” cuvées, and aging on lees for 19 or 48 months, Yannick has developed two lines for the general public—“classic” and “confidential”—and an “affinity” line reserved for professionals.

At the heart of the winery
La famille travaille la vigne depuis longtemps à Damery, mais l’histoire avec le champagne débute vraiment en 1969. À 20 ans, avec seulement 700 pieds de vigne, Gérald décide de vinifier ses raisins. Il crée en même temps la marque Yannick Prévoteau, du nom de son fils tout juste né. Le vignoble se développe et s’étend de la rive droite de la vallée de la Marne jusqu’aux coteaux du Vitryat. Cette diversité de terroir a permis de planter les trois cépages principaux de Champagne avec une certification HVE3 afin de préserver la biodiversité. Yannick, le fils, s’occupe désormais de l’exploitation.
