Gault&Millau's review
The presence of the Vazart and Coquart families in the vineyards dates back to 1785. Before the Great War, Camille Vazart was already a leader in the field thanks to an important pressing center in Chouilly. Taking over from Jacques Vazart, who died in 2006, Jean-Pierre Vazart has refined the already very successful style of Jacques, with long maturation of wines on lees. A new press house in 2015 and total renovation of the winery in 2016 allows them to always be at the cutting edge of technology. The house operations are certified operation high environmental value (HVE), and under conversion to organic viticulture. Today, the estate covers 11 hectares of Grand Cru vines, mainly Chardonnay (94%), in the Côte des Blancs. In 2020 the first organically grown grapes were harvested, and a cuvée was made in a terracotta egg vessel.
