A 2013 that enchants us with its nose of white grapefruit, coffee, iodine, fresh mushrooms and granny smith apple. The palate is just as pretty as the nose: sensual, fleshy, yet tapered and taut with punchy acidity. The finish is pure and brilliant, with flavors of grapefruit, oyster and green plum. Enjoy with grilled crab, celery mousse and caviar. Superb.

Since Louis Callot, born in 1784, six generations have succeeded one another in the Avize vineyard. Pierre Callot created his brand in 1955, before handing over to the last of his four sons, Thierry, in 1996. The 5-hectare family estate is located on the Côte des Blancs, the kingdom of Chardonnay, with parcels on the classified Grand Cru terroirs of Avize, Cramant and Chouilly, as well as on Grauves, classified Premier Cru. The house vinifies, ages and bottles its wines cru by cru, not by blending parcels. This resolutely modern approach allows consumers to taste the differences in terroir within the house style. The domaine now offers an online boutique.
