This Extra Brut has an elegantly crafted nose of brioche, fresh bread, yeast and marzipan, with gourmet notes of poached white fruit and white chocolate. On the palate, it's very much in the spirit of the house, with plenty of substance, a certain bonhomie and appetizing bubbles.

Under the name Pannier, you'll find a winery with some 400 cooperative members and 720 hectares. The cuvées age slowly in 12th-century medieval cellars, whose stones were once used to build the monuments of the town of Château-Thierry. The brand is, in a way, the emblem of Aisne wines, with a dominant Pinot Meunier component in the blends, giving the wines a pronounced fruitiness and gourmet drinkability. A wide range is available here, including a few rarities such as "Rosé Velours", a rosé cuvée dosed dry, i.e. quite sweet. Don't miss a tour of the house's historic cellars.
