Gault&Millau's review
Sold under the name "Champagne Marie-Courtin" in tribute to his grandmother, and in contrast to traditional champagnes, Dominique Moreau has imposed his own style. There are no blended wines at his Côte des Bar domain, only one grape variety and always from one single year. On one single plot (2.5 ha) cultivated biodynamically, this grower focuses on transcribing as closely as possible the characteristics of the terroir. Here there is no dosage liquor added at disgorgement, and no or little sulphur used to guard the natural fruit. The result is wines that are both energetic and delicate, which open up as they evolve over time in the glass.
