It's as if you're drinking from the stars: the fine bubbles, with no crackle or creaminess, are just wriggly. It leaves the palate fresh, ready to receive an armful of flowers and a basket of yellow fruit. We like the lingering sweet spices and deep chewiness of this cuvée, which remains saline to accompany a seafood platter.

Lepreux-Penet

Louis-Gilbert Penet became a harvester and handler in Verzy following the 1929 crisis, investing in cellars dug into the chalk at a depth of 18 meters. His son Jean-Marie succeeded him, creating the brand. It is the union of his eldest daughter Florence and Jean-Paul Lepreux that symbolizes the current entity. The vineyard extends over some 8 hectares on the Montagne de Reims. Here, they are concerned with the microbial life of the soils, with a desire to combine modern production tools with traditional methods. Since 2017, the winery has been experimenting with amphora vinification.
