Born at the end of the 19th century, the history of J. Charpentier champagne is now written by the fourth and fifth generations, led by Jacky and Jean-Marc Charpentier, who is an oenologist. Their strength lies in passing on their know-how, and in a skilful blend of wise experience and spirited youth. In love with their terroir, the Charpentiers have long been committed to a philosophy of respect for the environment. They practice the reintroduction of ploughing, 100% grassing of plots and avoid systematization and insecticides. They work on a case-by-case basis, using what nature has to offer. In the cellar, the house vinifies in stainless steel vats, foudres or barrels, partly without malolactic fermentation, with minimal sulfiting and moderate dosage.
