At the beginning of the 20th century, Alfred Bonville acquired vineyard land after the phylloxera crisis, limiting his choices to plots close to his home. In 1936, with his son Franck, they bought a winegrower's house in Avize, marking the beginning of Franck Bonville Champagne wines. After the war, Franck began bottling his own wine, with his first vintage in 1959. In the 1970s, Gilles and Ingrid modernized production, replacing wooden tuns with stainless steel vats and building a semi-underground winery. Olivier joined the business in 1997 after studying viticulture and oenology.
