A singular nose, marked by toast, roasting and gunflint. Redcurrant, lavender and zan add joyfully. On the palate, there's a patina of flavor, with a sense of substance that doesn't dry out. The bubbles are creamy and plentiful. The sensation is juicy, ripe and fleshy, with lovely red fruit in the aftertaste. On the finish, there's a touch of spice and an appreciable hint of minerality. Character and balance, neither too much nor too little.

Coessens
Coessens
The sixth generation of winegrowers on the Côte des Bar, Jérôme Coessens decided in 2006 to launch his own brand. The vineyard extends over a single plot of clay-limestone soil called Largillier, planted exclusively with Pinot Noir. Jérôme and his wife produce six cuvées, exploiting the differences in soil types within the plot. This unique terroir research is a must to discover, and its first admirer is none other than Guillaume Selosse. The estate has been certified organic since 2021. A new cuvée is due to arrive in 2025, Pinotmaniac, from its Les Riceys vineyard.
