Dashing and crisp, the nose is straightforward, with lovely spicy, jammy black fruits. Ripe blackcurrants and macerated black cherries give way to notes of Guayaquil chocolate. Fresh and inviting on the palate, with straightforward tannins and a delectable, if somewhat tannic, chewiness. A fine wine to serve with two courses of Houdan duck à la goutte de sang.
