Description
Sponsored Overlooking the ocean and with a view of the Cordouan lighthouse, this restaurant, housed in a building designed by Jean Prouvé, has been an institution since 1930. From February to November, Chef Jean-Philippe Guiard prepares a bistronomic break. In keeping with French tradition, he doesn't hesitate to modernize old-fashioned recipes, and his short menu favors seasonal local produce. As an example of his talent, our taste buds succumb to gambas ravioli with shellfish sauce, followed by lean roast spelt risotto and asparagus, or beef ribbs, grenailles from the Île de Ré and lacquered sauce. Everything is homemade, including juices, stocks and sauces. "What's more, we offer fine seafood from the Île d'Oléron," adds owner Romain Benito. What's more, Le Petit Poucet's sommelier has selected 80 wines from small independent producers. We also appreciate the family atmosphere, the children's menu and the affordable prices for such an experience (menu at 42€ and wines from 19€). Closed Mondays and Tuesdays out of season.
