Gourmet Restaurant Just west of Guéret, this small provincial hotel is as much a meeting place for the charm and comfort of its rooms as for the chef's fine dishes. Decorated with modernity and comfort, the hotel lends itself to furtive stopovers as well as prolonged retreats, and at the table you'll find a fine taste of the terroir that doesn't abandon traditional conveniences. For example, the €29 Plaisir menu is a first introduction, with its elegant organic egg, fresh zucchini and pancetta, its dietetic line hake, lemon polenta and piquillos, its more regional Limousin beef, potatoes, spinach and shallot confit, and its sympathetic cherry-pistachio. Service to match.
