Gault&Millau's review 2025

Just a few minutes from medieval Montluçon, a sumptuous park with century-old trees shelters the high towers of Château Saint-Jean, a 12th-century nugget that still retains its period chapel. Owned by Nicole and Jean-Claude Delion since 2016, the property has been skilfully restored by the prestigious design duo Jouin Manku, and now offers the privilege of settling into one of the 19 rooms and suites that infuse pure luxury, with thick carpets and sandy hues. A spa, a bistro and Olivier Valade's gastronomic restaurant La Chapelle complete the assets of this unique refuge (member of Relais & Châteaux), which artfully blends history and contemporary spirit.
