On September 18 and 19, 2025, Bordeaux's Son' restaurant will host two original four-hands dinners, bringing together its chef Sylvain Renzetti and Mathieu Martin, chef at Saint-James Bouliac.

Restaurant Son' (2 toques) in Bordeaux will be hosting two exceptional dinners in September. Each evening, some thirty guests will discover a menu prepared four-handed by local chef Sylvain Renzetti, in association with Mathieu Martin, chef at Saint-James in Bouliac, closed for renovation since the end of 2023.

Two chefs, two identities

The idea of these four-hands dinners came naturally, after a few meetings between the two chefs. "We'd bumped into each other at a number of events and were keen to work together," explains Sylvain Renzetti. "It's a format that's rarely found in Bordeaux. It's an opportunity for us to prove that chefs can work together."

But there's no question of the two chefs smoothing out their identities. "We'll each be preparing three dishes, which will allow customers to discover our two worlds simultaneously," explains the Son' chef.

For Mathieu Martin, these dinners will also be an opportunity to show that he is still very much a part of Bordeaux's culinary scene, despite the almost two-year closure of the Saint-James for renovations. "This will give us a little more space and enable us to continue to bring our cuisine to life, while enjoying a good moment of sharing and exchange with the Son' team", he assures us.

Among the dishes on offer, Sylvain Renzetti will be concocting a sparkling gazpacho and a Petit Prince dessert served in a music box, recalling the dreamlike world of the famous book. For his part, Mathieu Martin will be focusing on exceptional products such as caviar and pigeon, enhanced by techniques such as extraction. "But I prefer to keep a little surprise for our customers", confesses the chef. Are you tempted by this dinner? All you have to do is reserve your table for September 18 or 19, 2025!
