Naraé Kim is Gault&Millau Pastry Chef of the Year 2024

Naraé Kim is Gault&Millau Pastry Chef of the Year 2024

Émilie Lesur | 11/6/23

Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme pastry chef Naraé Kim is named Pastry Chef of the Year 2024 this Monday, November 6, 2023.

The woman who dreamed of becoming a pastry chef and working in France is now Gault&Millau Pâtissière de l'Année 2024. Naraé Kim won the title at the Gault&Millau 2024 Gala held this Monday, November 6, 2023 at the Pavillon d'Armenonville, Paris.

France, the land of all possibilities

"Thank you very much. Thank you to Gault&Millau for selecting me and giving me this opportunity. Thank you to my chef who accompanied me" were the first words of the winner, very proud and moved to receive this title. It was presented to her by our partner Nespresso.

After a world tour to perfect her skills, she chose France to build her career. The Korean-born chef has been working alongside Jean-François Rouquette at the Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme since 2021. Her patisserie? Quite natural. What she likes: concentrating on the product and varying the pleasures according to the seasons. In fact, she's particularly fond of France for the richness of its produce. A broad palette that she rigorously applies to her patisseries.

The Guide Jaune went to meet her a few weeks ago, and you can now watch her video portrait.

Gault&Millau of course salutes the rigorous work of Benoît Jabouille, of La Réserve de Beaulieu, in Beaulieu-sur-Mer, François Josse, of the restaurant Rouge, in Nîmes, and Benoît Charvet, of Restaurant Paul Bocuse, Collonges-au-Mont-d'Or, who were nominated in the Pâtissier de l'Année 2024 category.

Thanks to our partners Laurent-Perrier, De Buyer, Kaviari and Nespresso.
