On Monday March 6, the Wine Tour stopped off at the famous Château d'Agassac, in the Haut-Médoc region, to once again bring together chefs and wine professionals.

R

n keeping with Gault&Millau's unwavering commitment to bringing together all those involved in gastronomy, the Wine Tour brings together the region's top chefs, passionate sommeliers and wine merchants, and of course the French winemakers who best symbolize the region's wine production.

The beginnings of the Wine Tour

Because most of the restaurants selected in the Gault&Millau Guide don't have sommeliers, or don't have the time to discover new nuggets on a regular basis... Because there is no marketplace dedicated to wines or catering... Because access to restaurant wine lists is sometimes difficult for winemakers... Gault&Millau decided to bring together these two professions, undisputed players in French gastronomy.

The Wine Tour and the Trophées des Talents du Vin

Over the course of a day, chefs, sommeliers and wine merchants embark on a veritable wine journey through :

- Wine tastings selected by regional Gault&Millau ambassadors.

- Speed-dating with winemakers to deepen the tasting experience.

The day is also punctuated by the presentation of the Talents du Vin awards. The aim is to reward the most talented chefs, sommeliers and wine merchants in their region, and to shine a spotlight on their establishments by highlighting their skills and know-how.

Bordeaux region, third stage of the Wine Tour

Gault&Millau, talent spotter and trendsetter, continues its Wine Tour 2017 with a stopover on Monday March 6 at Château d'Agassac.

With its château, moat, cellars, vineyards, park and woods, Château d'Agassac, whose foundations date back to the 13th century, is a preserved site, unique in the Médoc.

For over 10 years, D'agassac has been committed to respecting nature by practicing sustainable viticulture, the fundamental principle of which is the observation and reduction of chemical treatments in favor of the implementation of alternative practices. Château d'Agassac is a wine estate and also offers the restaurant La Table d'Agassac .
