Gault&Millau's review
Founded in 1856 by Louis Pommery and Narcisse Greno, then widely expanded under Madame Pommery's control, the house is now headed by the Vranken couple. Thierry Gasco, cellar master for many years, has made Pommery a sure bet. Today, it's Clément Pierlot who holds the post, having managed the estate's vineyards for over fifteen years. The house is also world-renowned for hosting artists on its premises, notably in its cellars, which are located in the city's ancient Gallo-Roman quarries. A visit to Reims is a must, to experience contemporary art in historic cellars. Unforgettable.
