This predominantly Chardonnay cuvée, which is only produced in great years such as 2002, the region's benchmark vintage, is full of finesse. Still youthful in color despite its 15 years, this Rare has a very fine bubble and is classically presented: behind notes of dried fruit and toast emerge aromas of ripe fruit, yellow at first, then finely exotic with hints of pineapple. On the palate, the wine has superb finesse, with a fresh, saline finish. To be enjoyed on its own merits.
