A slightly slow start, followed by a flattering nose of juicy pear, jasmine and the licorice stick of childhood. Fennel seed is not far off. On the palate, the bubbles remain fine, and the texture is light, with a measured roundness that gently coats the palate. On the finish, a hint of lemon and a few bitters make us want to come back for more. Simple, effective.

Olivier Marteaux

Born into a family of winegrowers and nurserymen (Marcel, the grandfather, started his own business in 1950), Olivier Marteaux studied at the Lycée Viticole d'Avize before starting winemaking on the estate and becoming a harvestman in 1998. His vineyards, most of which are the result of massal selection over several generations, cover 9 hectares and some forty parcels in the Marne Valley, between Azy-sur-Marne and Charly-sur-Marne. Olivier produces a range of six cuvées that reflect his terroir and the fruits of his labor.
