This parcel-by-parcel blend of old Chardonnay vines, planted in 1936, proves as tasty as ever. On the palate, the chalky terroir expresses itself greedily, following a ripe, fresh nose with notes of candied citrus and mace. The wine's acidic structure supports its buttery character. A fine cuvée de terroir to accompany a stuffed shoulder of veal with wild mushrooms.

The family has been established for several generations in Cramant, a grand cru of the Côte des Blancs. The estate grows only Chardonnay on 3.5 ha. Lilbert-Fils is one of the benchmarks of the Cramant grand cru, producing wines with strong minerality, very upright and structured, bordering on reduction. The average age of the vineyards here is around forty years. The "Perle" cuvée, produced from a special tirage that develops a smoother, less powerful mousse, is a must-taste.
