Gabriel-Pagin Fils
Maison Gabriel-Pagin, run by father-and-son winemaker-manipulants since 1946, covers 9.50 ha on the Grand Cru and Premier Cru terroirs of Avenay-Val-d'Or, Mutigny, Avize and Cramant. All the region's main grape varieties are grown here, with pinot noir predominating (80%). Here, integrated viticulture raisonnée is based on certain principles: ploughed vines, no chemical weeding, minimal must treatment, no yeasting, spontaneous alcoholic and malolactic fermentation, vinification in wood and long ageing in the cellar. The range is relatively narrow, but well thought-out and homogeneous.
