The sweetness of elderflower, the delicacy of an armful of white roses, the roundness of lemon blossom, this bouquet is all tenderness with notes of fresh almond before evolving into richer aromas of toast and curry. The palate is tauter, with notes of Meyer lemon, citron and kumquat and lively bubbles. The finish is fresh, with notes of tarragon and a hint of cedar wood.

Egly-Ouriet

Family-run for four generations, the estate is now managed by Francis Egly, for whom the grape is everything. He cultivates 10 ha of grand cru in Ambonnay, Verzenay and Bouzy (mainly pinot noir), and 2 ha of pinot meunier in Vrigny (premier cru). His champagnes are highly precise, velvety and spicy. His "Vieilles Vignes" blanc de noirs is literally magical, and the red coteaux-champenois d'Ambonnay is always at the top of the region. The range has expanded in recent years with the acquisition of vines on the Saint-Thierry massif, north-west of Reims, where the soils are sandier and the definition of the wine is different.
