Gault&Millau's review
In 1855, the first winemaker of the family already sold his wines his wines to coachmen and boatmen during their stops at his inn. Nowadays, the ancestral know-how and values are perpetuated on an estate composed of 72 plots spread over several Crus of the Marne Valley, around Charly-sur-Marne. Its originality lies in the use of a unexpected grape variety for this Champagne region. Indeed, the latter is renowned to be dominated by Pinot Meunier which usually covers 90% of the land. However, in this estate, almost half of the vineyard actually grows Chardonnay. This specificity has, of course, its importance as it expresses itself in some of their champagnes. Out of the 24 hectares of the estate, 6.10 are cultivated using biodynamic methods (for the “Terre d'Emotion”).
