As with the brut "Intense", there's a blend, in this case of the 2014 vintage (30% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir and 35% Pinot Meunier) with 35% reserve wines aged in corked magnums, and 18% wines aged in wood. The nose is suave, almost discreet, but on aeration reveals itself to be complex and marked by freshly pressed grapes. The palate is creamy, powerful and elegant, with notes of poached pear, candied mandarin peel and invigorating spices. The taut finish makes this wine ideal with warm oysters and champagne cream.
