Sponsored In the heart of Ajaccio's old town, a stone's throw from the cathedral, citadel and Napoleon's birthplace, Petru Lisandru Beretta has created a showcase of flavors. The warm, cosy space has two floors, with an attractive oak counter and crystal chandeliers that combine the ancient with the modern. The young manager works Corsican delicacies according to his whims and the seasons, such as charcuterie and cheese boards from small-scale producers, or, for example, the zucchini fritters that customers love, as well as Italian-style carbonara pasta and a burger with Corsican tomme... with, of course, a butcher's hamburger and bread from the baker. His credo: excellence in simplicity. To end on a sweet note, the restaurateur has introduced a homemade applesauce (so that everyone can treat themselves to a dessert) and an original tiramisù with Nutella or lemon. The restaurant's excellent value for money is much appreciated by guests. When the weather's fine, the shady, flower-filled Parisian brasserie-style corner terrace is a hit with diners.
