Gault&Millau's review

11.5/20
Gourmet Restaurant We all remember Le Tiboulen de Maïre, where Aimé Bergero, a former scuba diver turned restaurateur, served the best catch of the day to Marseillais and showbiz stars alike. Closed a few years ago, the place is now coming back to life under the impetus of a new team, who have nicely renovated the premises and hired Eric Rabazzani, formerly of La Chèvre d'Or and Rowing Club, to relaunch the machine under a new name. From the terrace, the view of the sea and the Frioul islands is (almost) worth the trip in itself, but even if prices soar rather quickly (no doubt due to the Mistral wind), it would be wrong to stifle your enjoyment of the delicious fillet of sea bass with shellfish emulsion and roasted zucchini, or the lobster rolls and fresh French fries. The service is sometimes a little overwhelmed by the crowds, and the wine cellar is essentially southern and rather accessible.
