Description
Sponsored Aurèle Mestré became world fry champion in the Professional category in October 2023. The year before, this engineer-turned-discerning restaurateur opened a French fry shop next to Les Halles de Wazemmes, whose main assets are the freshness and quality of its raw produce. Every day, nearly 250 kilos of Artémis or Bintje potatoes are prepared and cooked twice, first in sunflower oil, then in beef fat, for less fat, more crispness and an incomparable taste. And with this cone of authentic French fries, available in three sizes, what are you served? Croquettes, breaded chicken or Maroilles sausages, all homemade, accompanied by original sauces (mayonnaise, burger, andalouse) and a draught Belgian beer. It's hardly surprising, then, that the restaurant's success is a matter of course, as Aurèle and her team can see from the restaurant's open kitchen. On the spot or to take away, you're sure to enjoy your meal!
