Gourmet Restaurant It's what the city of Marseille has been missing. A luxury Chartier-style brasserie has opened on the Avenue du Prado. The Marseilles bourgeoisie has taken over the pretty dining room and mezzanine, wall of mirrors, marble and gilded brass bistro table. 7 days a week, from 6 a.m. to 10.30 p.m., we rediscover our childhood memories of mimosa eggs and ravigote leeks, homemade mashed sausage, delicious tripe au gratin and braised beef cheek à la vigneronne served with soft polenta. The wine list is affordable and goes well with the dishes: petit-chablis, "Cœur de Brouilly" Domaine de Saint-Cyr, saint-joseph 2015 Domaine Courbis, faugères "Les Jardins" Domaine Saint Antonin and, by the glass, an IPG bouches-du-rhône blanc Château Saint-Hilaire that's easy to drink (€5.5). If the service, charming by the way, needs a serious upgrade, chef Hervé Fodera is right on the mark. And, while we're on the subject of notes, the "1970s" background music is a little loud, even if Claude François could go with the jambon coquillettes.
