Cédric Grolet Café: the chef's first coffee shop in Paris

Cédric Grolet Café: the chef's first coffee shop in Paris

Mathilde Bourge | 1/24/24, 12:10 PM

In February 2024, Cédric Grolet will open a coffee shop of his own, a stone's throw from his boulangerie-pâtisserie in Paris. Here's the address and what to expect.

And that's three! After his boutique at Le Meurice and the one on Avenue de l'Opéra, Cédric Grolet will open a new address on February 7, 2024. Located just a few steps from his boulangerie, it will be a coffee shop, offering two new hybrid creations among other things.

New concept, new creations

After London, Singapore and Courchevel, the star pastry chef returns to Paris, on rue Danielle Casanova, not far from his boulangerie-pâtisserie. Billed as "his definition of a coffee shop", the new venue will offer hot and cold drinks, "from the classic flat white to the most original milk punches", explains Cédric Grolet in a press release.

So, "with the opening of this boutique, [the pastry chef is] delighted to be able to offer a new concept with new creations that will evolve in five variations over the seasons, in the image of [his] collections". Two new creations will be on offer: cookie-pizzas, available by the slice or in XXL format, and cream-filled croissant-beignets. The thirty-something didn't fail to whet his subscribers' appetites by sharing the first images of these delicacies on Instagram, with their bulging, flaky and slightly sweet appearance. As usual, Cédric Grolet will be gradually sharing information about this new address via social networks.

This new opening comes at a time when Cédric Grolet is regularly mocked on social networks. At Christmas, the pastry chef was criticized for his log, which was deemed too expensive and not aesthetically pleasing. For Epiphany, it was his galette des rois, too sparsely garnished, that created controversy. The pastry chef will now have his work cut out for him!

A renowned address, refined cuisine and an unexpectedly affordable menu. in Rouen, on the banks of the Seine, this emblematic restaurant has taken up the challenge of making gastronomy more affordable without sacrificing quality. For lunch and dinner, diners can enjoy a 5-toque restaurant for no more than €50, a far cry from the usual prices for this type of establishment. Prestigious cuisine at affordable prices While this offer may come as a surprise in an establishment of this level, it is part of a carefully thought-out approach. The business menu, priced at €49 and served from Wednesday to Friday at lunchtime and from Wednesday to Thursday at dinnertime, allows haute cuisine enthusiasts to enjoy a gastronomic experience at an unusual price. The menu features dishes conceived in a spirit of sharing and conviviality: snails with mushroom fricassee and parsley cream, braised veal chuck and sautéed vegetables... Dishes that evolve with the seasons and harvests. Coming soon, a salmon and haddock tartare with Thai mayonnaise and wasabi mousse will enrich the menu. A great chef behind this initiative Behind this initiative is Gilles Tournadre, Rouen's emblematic chef, at the helm of Gill restaurant since 1984. Awarded 5 toques, he sublimates his terroir with a sincere, generous and lively cuisine, tinged with influences from his many trips to Japan. His commitment earned him a place in the Gault&Millau Academy in 2024, and he was named Gault&Millau d'Or at the Gault&Millau Tour Normandie 2025. With this menu, he aims to make gastronomy more accessible, without compromising on high standards or quality. This ambition is also reflected in the Young Gourmets offer, available until March 31 and reserved for those under 35.
