6 restaurants where you can eat in the mountains without going skiing

6 restaurants where you can eat in the mountains without going skiing

While some are already hitting the slopes, others stuck in Paris are dreaming of mountain flavors. Here are 6 good ideas to try.

Emilie Lesur

It's possible to eat in the mountains when you live in Paris, but the experience may not seem as exciting. Not so with these six restaurants, which have banked on a decor and experience sometimes worthy of the finest ski resorts.

Chez Monix at Splash in Asnières-sur-Seine

At Chez Monix, the experience varies according to where you sit: in one of the gondolas (yes, yes) set up in the carefully decorated garden, near the glass roof to admire the beautiful scenery, or simply in the heart of the restaurant where the atmosphere is quite festive. Choose from a "dish to share + dessert" menu. Tartiflette, Racliflette or Fondue, it's up to you to choose the cheese that inspires you most that evening.
The little extra: the atmosphere.

Chez Monty's at Hoxton Paris

Tucked away in the backyard of the Hoxton Paris hotel, Monty's is a cosy chalet where you can enjoy an evening of raclette to the rhythm of old vinyl records that you can choose and put on yourself. There's a choice of two raclette formulas with raw-milk cheese, an assortment of charcuterie and as many side dishes as you like. Tasting is done with a Brézière®-type appliance - we love it!
The little extra: the authenticity of the experience.

At Le Cinq Codet hotel

Eating raclette often rhymes with conviviality and sharing. At Le Cinq Codet's Chiquette restaurant, you have the choice of using a machine or being served by the plate. Of course, the cheese is always served at the right temperature, and the potatoes are unlimited.
The little extra: the vegetable pickles and charcuterie that accompany the raclette formula.

Chez Monbleu

Known for its cheese dairy, this address also has a restaurant where you can book your raclette party. At the Faubourg Montmartre restaurant, raclette is à la carte only from Monday to Thursday, but from Tuesday to Sunday at Monbleu Père Lacheese, rue de la Roquette in the 11ᵉ arrondisement.
Bonus: a wide choice of cheeses (plain, smoked, goat's cheese, wild garlic, pimento cheese, morbier...).

At Station Babines

Eating in a wooden châlet is an unusual experience. That's what Station Babines offers in the courtyard of the Grand Quartier hotel. Whether classic, with morels or truffles, the fondues are sure to satisfy any stomach craving for mountain flavors.
Bonus: wine pairings.

Au Mont Trocadéro

For the winter season, the Rooftop Eylau Paris has been transformed into a Parisian off-piste under the ephemeral name of Mont Trocadéro. On the menu are Alpine classics such as raclette and foie gras, reinvented by Chef Joffrey Servant and his brigade under titles inspired by the world of glaciers: tire-fesse, powder, snowboard...
The little extra: the view!

Here's a list of addresses you won't want to miss. With the exception of Monbleu, all are short-lived. Don't forget to book!
