Winemaker In 1840, Pierre Dourthe opened a business in Bordeaux. In 1929, the 4th generation bought Château Maucaillou, and today Patrick Jestin, President of Dourthe, manages a 400-hectare estate with several châteaux throughout the Bordeaux region. Maison Dourthe has also entered the wine trade (CVBG) with Essence de Dourthe: a prestige cuvée made from plots of old vines, selected from the house's different appellations. And also the Dourthe N°1 range.
