Valentin Leflaive
The house has its roots in the history of the Leflaive family, guided for centuries by a love of Burgundian chardonnay and savoir-faire. But it was only recently, in 2020, that Valentin Leflaive settled in Champagne, in the prestigious Côte des Blancs appellations, and more precisely in Oger, in an authentic winery with a traditional ageing cellar dug into the chalk. The historic single-vineyard, plot-based approach typical of Burgundy is applied here, offering new interpretations. Some of the wines are matured in old Burgundy rooms that have seen Olivier Leflaive's Puligny-Montrachet grands crus age, helping to reveal the full complexity of the cuvées. On the labels, each cuvée has its own characters: while the letters express the terroir and the selection of grape variety and parcel, the numbers illustrate the base years and dosage. A modern, transparent approach.
