Gault&Millau's review
From a grand historic house in Les Riceys, owning about twenty hectares in the village and the surrounding communities, the Taisne family finally launched the Taisne Riocour brand in 2018. The bulk of the still wines (“vins clairs”) are sent to two great champagne houses, Ayala and Joseph Perrier. The family is embarking on a limited production of champagnes, with Philippe Jamesse, the famous sommelier of the Champagne region helping to make the blends. The wines breathe the terroir of Riceys, with champagnes that are powerful, chalky, vinous but fresh all at once. The domain makes its debut in this guide with, in particular, a saignée rosé that particularly appealed to us.
